Adoption Contract

 

The following constitutes a sales agreement between Kendra Neitzel (Breeder) and

___________________________________ (hereinafter referred to as adopter) regarding rats purchased and listed on this document. These terms and conditions are entered into and agreed upon by both the adopter and breeder.

 

Therefore, it is agreed upon that:

 

1. Breeding of rat(s) #__________is not permissible.  PET ONLY CONTRACT _______

    Breeding of rat(s) #__________is permissible.        BREEDER CONTRACT  _______

 

2. The animal(s) listed on this contract is/are adopted first and foremost as  companion animals and is/are to be cared for as such. The rat(s) is/are to live in the adopter’s living quarters or in such living arrangements as agreed upon by both the breeder and the adopter.

 

3. The adopter has agreed to keep the rat(s) in a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring that fresh food and water are provided at all times, and avoiding temperature extremes or placing the rat(s) in a situation in which another animal  may cause harm to it. The adopter agrees to supervise small children around the rat(s).

 

4. The adopter agrees to attend to the health needs of the rat(s), including keeping it in a sanitary environment and providing proper medical treatment should it be necessary.

 

5. In the event that the adopter wishes to enter the rat(s) in a show, the adopter agrees to use the prefix RAMM in the formal naming of the rat(s) and on all official documents and websites.

 

6. If for any reason during the life of the rat(s) the adopter decides he/she does not wish to keep the rat(s), the adopter agrees to return the rat(s) to the breeder. For no reason should the rat(s) be placed with any individual or organization without the specified consent of the breeder and at no time will the adopter set the rat(s) loose to survive on its own.

HEALTH GAURANTEE: To the best of the breeder’s knowledge, the rat(s) is/are free of any illness or contagious diseases. The adopter is responsible for quarantining the rat(s) for two weeks after taking possession of it. If the rat(s) develops an illness or contagious disease within the two week quarantine period, the adopter may return the rat(s) for a refund. Any illness or disease that occurs after the two week quarantine period is the responsibility of the buyer. No other guarantees, expressed or implied, are  made under this contract, as stated herein.
